Description
The Batareisky waterfall, flowing into the Barents Sea, is one of the most wonderful natural attractions of Teriberka. Originating from Maly Batareiskoe Lake, it is a four-stage waterfall surrounded by harsh Arctic nature.
In spring and summer, the waterfall is a powerful and stormy phenomenon when there is a lot of water in the lake, but in autumn and winter it can be calmer and more reflective. In winter, the stream freezes and the water turns into an icefall, creating an impressive sight.
The hike to the waterfall involves traversing a rocky gorge and offers stunning views of the Barents Sea from the top of the cliff. The opportunity to see this natural wonder at any time of the year attracts many tourists and photographers.
Teriberka, at first an inconspicuous and secluded village, became famous thanks to the film "Leviathan" and attracted the attention of tourists with its unique beauty and wild nature. It has become a popular destination for tourism and photography, especially after the creation of the Teriberka Natural National Park.
Visiting the falls requires prior permission due to its protected national park status, but it is worth it to see this amazing piece of nature. Traveling to Teriberka can be done either by car or by public transport, enjoying the scenery and beauty of the northern coast.
