Description

Muransky Forest, located in the Shigonsky district of the Samara region, is a unique natural phenomenon. This forest, left over from the last ice age about fifty thousand years ago, is a relict of taiga forests in the forest-steppe zone of the Samara region.

The terrain in the Murano Bor region is characterized by low sandy hills, between which there are small reservoirs. The forest performs an important ecological function, protecting stone terraces from the effects of wind erosion and ensuring the safety of water resources.

Part of the Murano Forest is designated as a natural monument, where giant pines grow from 100 to 160 years old. This forest has become a kind of time capsule, allowing us to look into the past and see what nature looked like in ancient times.

For the Samara region, the Muransky Forest is of great value as an ecological and natural site, as well as a historical artifact testifying to the distant past of this area.
