Description

Ecopark "Kachkarsky Mar" is a city park in Orenburg, located near the village of Rostoshi and bounded by Zagorodnoye Highway. This park is a popular venue for various events and sports competitions.

Orienteering competitions are held here in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter. The dominant tree species in the park are Scots pine, green ash, pinnate elm, silver birch, ash maple and Siberian larch.

In 2018, activists from the regional branch of the All-Russian Popular Front in the Orenburg region took the initiative to expand the area of green forest park belt around the regional center and to develop a sports and recreational area in the Kachkarsky Mar ecopark. A round table was organized at which the issues of creating a “Green Shield” in the city, a zone under special protection, were discussed. The main goal was to include "Kachkarsky Mar" in the federal target program "Development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation for 2016-2020."

Acts of illegal waste dumping have also been identified in the park, and currently the park needs to be cleaned of unauthorized waste.

The history of the park began with the mass planting of trees in the tract in 1952.

Sports and cultural events, such as cross-country skiing competitions, are regularly held at the Kachkarsky Mar ecopark. In 2018, a record number of athletes took part in these competitions - 221 people from different municipalities of the region.
