The Church of the Archangel Michael in Orenburg was founded on September 6, 2012 with the blessing of His Eminence Valentin, Metropolitan of Orenburg and Saraktash. It was a solemn moment, similar to the ceremony of founding a church and planting a cross.
The church was founded on Vostochnaya Street in the city of Orenburg, next to the memorial to the fallen employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which bears the name of police major V.P. Samokhin, who died on March 6, 1996 in Grozny.
The service of consecration of the church was performed by His Eminence Valentin, and he was assisted by the priests of the diocese, the secretary of the diocese, Archpriest Evgeny Sirotkin, the rector of the St. Nicholas Cathedral, mitered Archpriest Alexy Aseev, acting. Rector of OrenDS Hegumen Nikodim (Shushmarchenko), Priest Maxim Sitnov and Deacon Nikolai Lischenyuk.
On the foundation stone, which was placed in the wall of the altar of the temple under construction, it was written: “In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, this church was founded in honor and memory of the Archangel of God Michael in the city of Orenburg under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, under the holiness of His Eminence Valentine, Metropolitan of Orenburg and Saraktash in the year from the creation of the world 7520, from the Nativity according to the flesh of God the Word 2012."
