Description

The Fire Museum in Orenburg is one of the most attractive museums in the city. Its history began with the opening of a fire-technical exhibition in 1974. The exhibition was originally housed in a three-story building, which later did not meet the requirements for a museum display. Therefore, in the 1980s, a new building was added, in the construction of which leading organizations of the city and fire departments took part.

It took the museum 17 years to fully equip the exhibition, and the exhibition was opened in November 1990. The exhibition consists of several halls, each of which is dedicated to a specific topic. The history of the fire service in the Orenburg province, fire equipment, as well as rooms with models of modern residential buildings and industrial enterprises are presented here.

The museum underwent reconstruction, as a result of which several innovations were introduced, including participation in the “Night of Museums” event, when admission is free for visitors. This museum is of interest not only to the general public, but also to specialists, and its exhibition helps to reveal the history and modern aspects of the work of the fire service.
