Description

Victory Square in the village of Rostoshi was opened on May 5, 2016 with the support of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg in honor of the 71st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was a special gift for veterans.

The general director of the enterprise, Vladimir Kiyaev, noted that if 30 years ago every 25th employee at their enterprise was a front-line soldier, then at the moment there are only 12 veterans and 139 home front workers. In their honor, it was decided to open Victory Square.

In preparation for the opening of the square, landscaping was carried out, a stele and panels with portraits of enterprise veterans were installed, and a museum of military equipment was created. The eternal flame in the park was lit from a piece of it brought from the memorial complex on Pobedy Avenue in the city of Orenburg.

The exhibition of military equipment included a Su-24M bomber, a Mi-24P helicopter, a T-80 tank, howitzers, cannons, an Akatsiya self-propelled artillery mount and a Grad multiple launch rocket system.

At the opening of the square there were congratulations, marches of a brass band, and songs about the war. A gun salute was also organized. Participants in the celebration had the opportunity to inspect military equipment prepared by employees of the Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg enterprise.

It was a solemn event at which Orenburg gas workers met their veterans with flowers and honors.
