Description

Of particular interest is a single trough-shaped dolmen, carved from a spherical block of sandstone, which is located on the left bank of the Svir River on the slope of the ridge not far from its second waterfall. This artifact is located on the territory of the Sochi National Park and is under the management of the Lazarevskoye forestry. It is impossible to get lost in this recreational facility: all paths, forks and fords across the river are clearly marked. There are signs for each of the objects (waterfalls, Moonstone, dolmen).

At the last fork towards the dolmen, a strange sign with the inscription “Dolmen SLAVA” attracts attention. This name is of interest because it is not clear whether it is the name of this object or whether it reflects any special achievements associated with this megalith.

A remarkable fact is that there is a small icon installed in the portal of the dolmen, and there are always fresh flowers in front of it. The portal has an unusual shape, which is explained by the antiquity of the stone itself (its structure is very similar to the sandstone of the Volkonsky dolmen, which dates back to the fourth millennium BC). The dimensions of the dolmen are approximately 1.5 x 1.5 meters (the exact dimensions are difficult to indicate due to the large number of broken off plates).

The dolmen's burial chamber widens slightly at the bottom and has a larger volume than other similar dolmens (approximately 1.5 meters at the top and up to 2.2 meters at the bottom). The burial chamber is filled tightly with earth right up to the entrance hole.

The lid of the dolmen was cracked in half, one part of it fell inside the burial chamber, and in the center of the destroyed slab a tree grew - a young oriental beech. The diameter of the entrance hole in the narrowest part is 30x36 cm, and the distance from the lower edge of the hole to the portal platform is 42 cm. The dolmen is oriented to the southwest (A245). From the projection of the center of the square to the bottom of the portal is approximately 80 cm.
