Description

Near the entrance to the coastal town of Shepsi, located in the Tuapse region, on the Dzhubga-Sochi highway, at the entrance to the Smena sanatorium, there is a monument to the L-410 UVP aircraft - a multi-purpose twin-engine aircraft intended for local airlines. This plane is clearly visible from the road.

The L-410 “Turbolet” was developed by the Czech plant Let Kunovice and is intended for operation on unprepared dirt, grass and snow areas, as well as at airfields with short runways. The monument to this plane was donated to the city by Joseph Kobzon and is one of the interesting attractions of Tuapse.

According to some reports, it was planned to turn the plane into a cafe for children, but the project, apparently, was never realized. The L-410 monument aircraft is located near the Smena sanatorium at the address Shepsi, R-27. Here you can often find children playing next to the plane, as well as city visitors who want to capture this attraction in photographs.

The L-410 aircraft has been built in more than 1,100 different modifications in Czechoslovakia since 1969. Most of them were delivered to the USSR and were actively used on local airlines. The tail number of this aircraft is obscured, but serial number 800405 was found. The first flight of this L-410 took place in 1980. This aircraft was operated by the North Caucasus CAA and Aeroflot.
