Description

Polkovnichiy waterfalls, located 16 kilometers from the village of Dzhubga in the area of the village of Polkovnichiy, are a unique natural phenomenon that attracts many tourists with their beauty and accessibility.

History and location

The village of Polkovnichy received its name in honor of Colonel P.D. Babich, who passed through these places with his detachment in 1866. Here, where they made a halt, a village later arose, named in his honor. Colonel Falls was also named after this village. In the bed of the Kamenisty stream, which flows nearby, there are 9 waterfalls, the highest of which reaches 18 meters.

Description and features

Each of the waterfalls in the Colonel Falls cascade has its own unique beauty and character. They vary in height and strength of water flow, and the surrounding rocks and stones create the unique appearance of each of them. Some of the waterfalls form bathing bowls in which you can dive and cool off. Some waterfalls are already equipped with recreational facilities, such as shelters with tables and benches, as well as toilets.

Route

A visit to the Colonel Falls is accessible even to minimally prepared tourists. Routes to the waterfalls were laid back in the 60-70s of the last century. The first waterfall, called "Canopy", is the most popular due to its accessibility and height of 2 meters. Climbing along the bed of the stream, tourists can visit each of the 9 waterfalls, each of which has its own characteristics and unique beauty.

How to get there

In order to get to Polkovnichiye Falls, you can use a car or a bus going to Krasnodar from Lermontovo. The entire path from the first to the last waterfall is about 7 km, which will take about 4 hours one way. Therefore, it is worth planning a whole day for the entire route to enjoy the fresh air in the mountains and the beauty of pristine nature.

Colonel Waterfalls provide an opportunity to diversify your holiday at sea and plunge into the amazing world of mountain nature.
