Description
The monument to a female janitor, unveiled in Orenburg on May 30, 2014, is one of the symbols of recognition and respect for the work of municipal employees. The height of the figure is 1 meter 70 centimeters, it is made of fiberglass and painted bronze. The figure depicts a female janitor with a broom in her hands, and next to her is a cat, symbolizing the inhabitant of the courtyards.
The opening of the monument was not only an act of memory of the work of public utility workers, but also a reminder of the importance of cleanliness and improvement of the city. A square with benches, a sidewalk path and planted trees was organized around the monument. This has become a new recreation area for residents and visitors of the city.
The installation of the monument was made possible thanks to funds from residents who responded to the call of the administration of the Northern District. This monument became part of a nationwide trend to immortalize ordinary people and their professions.
