Description
In anticipation of the 70th anniversary (2015) of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Orenburg, at the intersection of Rodimtsev Street and Victory Avenue, a military helmet two meters high with a nearby scarlet carnation was installed. This monument was erected as a token of gratitude to the soldiers who fought for peace over their heads.
The figure is made in the form of a topiary composition from artificial covering, imitating a lawn. In addition, a flower bed was arranged in front of the monument, resembling the shape of a dove - a symbol of peace and the anniversary of Victory.
This monument is intended to remind future generations of the feat of war participants and to pay tribute to the memory of veterans and homefront workers, thanks to whom Victory was achieved.
Sergey Chufistov, the Head of the Northern District of Orenburg, noted that the choice of the helmet shape is not accidental, as it is a symbolic recognition of all those who did not return from the battlefield. He also emphasized that the residents of Orenburg made a significant contribution to the common Victory, with more than 400 thousand people going to the front, of which 187 thousand did not return from the battlefields.
