Description

The worship cross in Anapa is a significant monument that symbolizes memory, courage and peace. It was erected in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and is dedicated to all the residents of Anapa who died in this conflict. The cross not only symbolizes the eternal memory of those who gave their lives, but also represents peace and friendship between peoples. This cross is the highest in the Krasnodar Territory, reaching almost 19 meters in height. It is made of stone and crowned with bronze images of the Faces of the Savior. The worship cross is installed on a hill in the village of Supsekh, from where a stunning view of Anapa, the Black Sea and the surrounding area opens up.

History of creation

The monument was erected and consecrated on October 2, 2005 by His Eminence Isidore, Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban. The inscription on the memorial plaque of the cross reads:

"This worship cross, the banner of the eternal victory of life over death, was erected to sanctify the beginning of the Caucasus Mountains, for the reconciliation of the peoples of the Caucasus and was erected in honor of the 60th anniversary of the glorious Victory in the Great Patriotic War. LORD, KEEP RUSSIA!"
