The Central Embankment of Sochi is a long pedestrian street along the Black Sea coast, located along Primorskaya Street. It is considered the main street of the city and is known as the Promenade, after a similar embankment in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera. The total length of the embankment is 2 km, from the Marine Station to Pushkin Avenue.

Description
Every movie lover knows where the cult film “The Diamond Arm” was filmed. Leonid Gaidai’s comedy about a meek economist and cunning smugglers became one of the most popular Soviet films. The filming locations in Sochi are marked with sculptural compositions and memorial plaques. The filming took place in Sochi, and the sculptural composition is installed on the square near the seaport and the Marine Station. The monument depicts the scene where the Gorbunkov family sees off their father, a modest economist, on a cruise on a motor ship abroad. Nearby are the bronze would-be smugglers Lelik and Gesha Kazadoev.
Features and opening of the monument
The faces of the sculptures were molded from photo portraits and still frames from the film. Local entrepreneurs sponsored the production of the monument. The grand opening of the sculptural composition took place on August 23, 2010. 6 tons of metal and about 2 tons of bronze were used to create the monument. The work lasted 7 months, and the project cost 7 million rubles.
How to get to the monument
To see the sculptural composition, you can go to the “Organ Hall” stop on Kurortny Prospekt. From the stop, walk 330 meters to the Archangel Michael monument and turn left onto Voikova Street, walk almost to the end of the street.

The sculptures were cast in Rostov-on-Don, and the entire project cost about 5 million rubles. The grand opening took place on August 23, 2010, and the event was accompanied by a brass band and retro car horns.
