Description

The Museum of Narrow Gauge Railways in Yekaterinburg is a unique place dedicated to the history and development of narrow gauge railway transport. It was founded in 2016 and is located in the city of Yekaterinburg, in the complex of buildings and structures of the Sverdlovsk Children's Railway.

The initiative to create the museum belongs to the chief engineer of the Sverdlovsk Railway, Igor Naboychenko, who in 2013 decided to create it on the basis of the Sverdlovsk Children's Railway. The museum was opened in September 2016.

The museum's exhibits include more than 90 exhibits, including various rolling stock such as locomotives, carriages, and other railroad artifacts. Placing the museum in the historical complex of children's railway buildings makes it possible to create a unique space for studying the history of narrow-gauge railways.

The museum also offers tourist and excursion programs all year round, making it a popular holiday destination for residents and guests of the city of Yekaterinburg. As part of the special program “Narrow Gauge Railway - the Workhorse of 20th Century Industry,” visitors can travel in a retro train and visit various museum sites. To participate, you must pre-register.
