Description

The Vise of Death, or radioactive ladle, is one of the most striking exhibits in Pripyat. This clamshell bucket, manufactured in Germany, was used to clear debris near the 4th power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant after the accident. In some parts of it you can place black radiation mass. It attracts the attention of atomic researchers, but poses a serious threat due to its high levels of radiation.

This scoop was likely used to remove the remains of graphite rods that were scattered around the destroyed reactor. It contains all three types of dangerous radioactive radiation: gamma rays, beta and alpha particles. Particularly dangerous are the last two types of ideas, which can be unexpected or swallowed up.

Radiation levels in the city of Pripyat range from normal to several tens of milliroentgens per hour. The city is located between two radiation trails, which makes it relatively safe for walking, with strict adherence to precautions and radiation safety standards. However, when visiting radioactive places such as the jaws of death, it is necessary to use respirators and take all precautions.
