Description

The mass grave of the Red Cossacks executed by the White Cossacks in 1918 is a regional monument in the Orenburg Region. The decision to place this monument under state protection was made by the Executive Committee of the Orenburg Regional Council of People's Deputies on May 13, 1987 (decision No. 179).

On May 25, 1918, a flying officer detachment shot three people: S. P. Gusev, P. F. Zavershinsky and V. D. Telushkin for "sympathizing with the Bolsheviks and causing devastation among the Cossacks." These events took place near the village of Burannoye in the Orenburg Region.

In memory of the tragically killed, an obelisk was erected with the inscription: "To the Red Cossacks S. P. Gusev, P. F. Zavershinsky, V. D. Telushkin, brutally murdered by the Whites in the village of Burannoye in 1918."
