Description
The Dimitrovskoye Reservoir, also known as Chernovskoye, is located in the Ileksky District of the Orenburg Region. The reservoir was built in 1986 on the Chernaya River for the purpose of fish farming and irrigation. It is located 8 km south of the village of Krasnokholm and 80 km from Orenburg. The area of the reservoir is about 13 square kilometers.
Tourist recreation centers
Around the reservoir there are tourist recreation centers offering cozy beaches, a variety of entertainment on the water and on land, as well as everything you need for comfortable fishing. On the northern coast of the reservoir there is a tourist base "Dacha", which offers various water activities and comfortable accommodation for vacationers.
Natural attractions
On the right bank of the reservoir there is a unique natural formation - Krasnaya Krucha. This red cliff is composed of Upper Permian sandstones and reaches a height of 15-18 meters. Krasnaya Krucha is especially beautiful at sunset, when various forms of weathering and deflation niches are clearly visible. The formation also includes a deep ravine overgrown with bushes and trees.
Fishing and entertainment
The Chernovskoye (Dimitrovskoye) Reservoir is popular among fishermen due to the variety of fish species. Fishing competitions are often held here. In addition to fishing, many people come here for picnics, swimming and just to relax in nature.
Fish situation
On June 14, 2024, a mass death of crucian carp occurred on the Dimitrovskoye Reservoir. Fishermen reported that a lot of dead fish were washed ashore after hurricanes that occurred several days ago. There have been no official comments on the causes of the fish deaths yet. A similar situation was observed several years ago on the Iriklinskoye Reservoir, where experts did not find significant deviations, and the cause of the mass death of fish was its large accumulation in spawning grounds.
How to get there
There are several routes to visit the Dimitrovskoye Reservoir:
- From Orenburg: follow the route airport – Saraktash – Isyangulovo – Krasnokholm – reservoir.
- From Samara or Ufa: the route runs along the main roads of the region, the final destination is Krasnokholm, from which the reservoir is about 8 km away.
- From Yekaterinburg or Chelyabinsk: by car you can get there via Chelyabinsk, Plast, Magnitogorsk, Sibay, Baymak and Zilair, the reservoir will be visible to the left of the road.
Natural conditions
Forests grow and mountains rise around the reservoir, which makes the place attractive to tourists and nature lovers. The water in the reservoir is clean, and in the surrounding forests you can find a lot of mushrooms in season.
