Description

The history of the Orthodox Holy Trinity St. Simeon Monastery of Mercy in the village of Saraktash, Orenburg region, represents an amazing journey of faith and perseverance in the name of reviving spiritual values.

In 1943, the history of the monastery began with the registration of a community of believers, and soon after, local residents applied for the opening of a prayer house. Land for the construction of the church was allocated in 1947, but due to various difficulties, the construction of the building was suspended. Despite all obstacles, the believers continued their efforts, but the first building was seized and transferred for use as a school.

However, in 1990, a bright period in the history of the monastery began when Father Nikolay Stremsky arrived to serve. Together with the believers, he began the restoration of the church and the construction of new buildings on its territory. The Holy Trinity Monastery became a place of rapid development, new buildings appeared, including a school and administrative buildings.

In 2001, the construction of a new church began, which became a reduced copy of the Kazan Cathedral, destroyed in the 1930s. Over the years of active construction and restoration of the monastery, a bell tower, a baptistery, administrative and residential buildings were erected.

In 2005, the largest bell in the Orenburg Diocese was installed in the monastery, and in 2009, the solemn opening of the new church took place, with the first service held in it.

Thus, the Orthodox Holy Trinity St. Simeon Monastery of Mercy in the village of Saraktash has become a symbol of faith, perseverance, and the revival of spiritual values in modern Russia.

In 2008, the monastery operates a house of mercy, an Orthodox gymnasium, a spiritual school, a Sunday school; sisterhood and monastic community have been formed, there is a sewing workshop, a bakery, and a small farm.
