Canyons and gorges, craters, dunes, glaciers, geological outcrops, monumental trees and other unusual natural formations that are not mountains, caves or bodies of water. Wind, water and ice shaped these places over thousands of years, carving out landscapes that look like the set of a science fiction film. People come here for rare scenery, for the geological history written in the rock layers and for photos no one else has.
