Description

Terskol waterfall is located in the gorge of the same name in the Elbrus region in Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia. Its vertical part is a regular rectangular shape, 20 meters high and 12 meters wide. Rhododendrons located on one of the banks of the waterfall decorate it with their blooms in early summer.

To visit the waterfall, there is a walking route from the village of Terskol through the gorge of the same name. The duration of the walk is 5-6 hours, and the elevation difference along the route reaches 600 meters. The season for visiting the waterfall is usually from May to October.

The gorge itself, in which the waterfall is located, is a natural wonder that attracts active tourists. On the way to the waterfall, you can enjoy majestic views of the tongue of the Terskol glacier and other mountain peaks such as Elbrus, Cheget and Ushba.

Approaching the waterfall, you can see an impressive picture, as if someone turned over a stone cliff, creating a vertical cascade of water among the rocky mountains. Here you can not only admire the living thundering water, but also swim in the basalt bath at its foot.

The gorge and waterfall are surrounded by rich vegetation, including thyme, sage, mint and rhododendrons, which bloom like white islands of snow in June.

The route to the waterfall begins in the village of Terskol and leads through a dirt road, forest and meadows, giving travelers the opportunity to enjoy picturesque views of nature. The starting point is the monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, which stands next to the mosque in the village. Further along the road you can find a bridge over a mountain river, and then the path leads through a pine forest and meadows to a waterfall.

A visit to the Terskol waterfall is a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of nature and enjoy its living energy.
