Description
Kalitsky Peak is a single pyramid-shaped rocky mountain, also known as a laccolith, located in the eastern Elbrus region. The mountain's height is 3,581 meters above sea level, and the base is at an altitude of about 3,350 meters, giving the summit a relative height of up to 230 meters above the surrounding glacier and rashes. The mountain is located at the northeastern foot of Elbrus, at the source of the Malki River, next to Lake Birjaly (Jikaulgenköz), between the Birdzhallychiran and Chungurchatchiran glaciers. Kalitsky Peak is located on the territory of the Elbrus National Park.
Geological significance and history
The mountain is an intrusive or subglacial laccolith composed of light granites and diabases. The peak was named in honor of the Russian and Soviet geologist Kazimir Petrovich Kalitsky (1873-1941), who worked in this region in 1910 as part of the expedition of the Geological Committee of Russia for geological survey of the Caucasus, led by A.P. Gerasimov.
K.P. Kalitsky was remembered by the expedition members for his one-day attempt to climb to the top of Elbrus on a glacier without experience in high-mountain ascents. This caused him to develop altitude sickness and forced him to return before reaching the summit. However, his tenacity and courage impressed the expedition members, which led to the naming of the peak after him.
Natural and cultural features
Kalitsky Peak rises in the middle of the Jikaulgenköz glacier, next to two Birjali lakes, which in themselves are significant natural attractions. The area is characterized by extraordinary beauty and a variety of natural forms, including huge glaciers, unique geological formations and crystal clear lake waters.
A powerful bioenergy field has been recorded at the top of the mountain and in its surroundings, the nature of which has not yet received a scientific explanation. The mountain is composed of light granites and diabases, and in its northern part there is a horizontal platform, presumably of artificial origin. This site resembles a temple place where you can find cult stones: the Earth stone, totem stone, Rod stone and ritual stone, each of which has its own legend.
Energy and mysticism
Due to the unusual location and energy of the peak, versions have arisen that the mountain can serve as a kind of antenna connecting the Earth with space. This gave rise to many legends and myths about the sacred significance of this place.
Tourist routes and attractions
For travelers wishing to visit Kalitsky Peak and its surroundings, there is a relatively long and difficult route to overcome. However, all efforts will be justified, since along the way you can see the most famous and beautiful locations of Jila-Su. Tourists can start their journey from Emmanuel's glade, the site of the first conquerors of Elbrus, and visit the Narzan Valley with healing springs and the stone castles of Djily-Su.
Conclusion
Kalitsky Peak is not only a geologically significant mountain, but also a place rich in cultural and historical artifacts. Its unique nature and mystical energy attract both scientists and tourists looking for new experiences and knowledge about the mysteries of the Caucasus.
