Description

The Orenburg State Nature Reserve represents a significant natural and cultural heritage of the Orenburg region. It consists of five unique areas, each of which is characterized by its natural beauty and unique landscapes: “Talovskaya steppe”, “Burtinskaya steppe”, “Aituarskaya steppe”, “Ashchisayskaya steppe” and “Pre-Ural steppe”. The total area of the reserve is 38,191 hectares.

Visiting the reserve is possible only along specially laid routes to minimize the impact on nature. The nature of each steppe surprises with its landscapes, mountain shapes and clear lakes and springs. In the reserve you can also see a population of wild Przewalski's horses, which will be an unforgettable experience for tourists.

To visit the reserve, a fee is charged: 170 rubles for entry and an additional payment for parking for cars - 250 rubles on weekdays and 300 rubles on weekends and holidays.

It is possible to organize camping on the territory of the reserve. The cost of one tent space is 150 rubles on weekdays and 200 rubles on weekends. You can also rent a tent for an additional fee.

For accommodation, you can use the services of the “Mountain Oak” guest house, where the cost of accommodation starts from 1,500 rubles.

To get to the Pre-Ural Steppe section, you should follow the road from Orenburg to the village of Belyaevka, and then through the village of Burtinsky to the village of Sazan. Then you need to follow the signs for another 6 km to the Przewalski's Horse Reintroduction Center. Travel time will be about 2 hours.

Przewalski's Horse Reintroduction Center

The Przewalski's Horse Reintroduction Center plays an important role in the conservation of this unique species, listed in the Red Book of Russia. In the context of the federal project "Preservation of biological diversity and development of ecological tourism", this center is a key element of the strategy for the conservation of wildlife and the development of ecological tourism in Russia.

Created in 2015 on the territory of the Orenburg State Nature Reserve, the center ensures the creation of a semi-free population of Przewalski's horse in Russia. This project is supported by a number of organizations, including the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, the Russian Geographical Society and the Government of the Orenburg Region.

The center's infrastructure includes a complex of enclosures, acclimatization pens, a research complex and other facilities necessary for the successful implementation of the project. The center conducts regular monitoring of the horse population, implements genetic control measures and provides veterinary support.

In addition, the center is actively involved in educational programs and outreach activities aimed at promoting knowledge about the importance of wildlife conservation. This includes organizing excursions, lectures, events and working with volunteers.

The Reintroduction Center plans to expand its activities beyond the Orenburg region, developing programs to create new centers for the reintroduction and breeding of Przewalski's horse in other regions of Russia. It is also planned to transfer a group of founding horses from the “Pre-Ural Steppe” to the Khakass Nature Reserve with the aim of creating a new reintroduction center in this region.
