Description

The salt tract Tuzlukkol (or it is also called Tuzlukkol mud) is located 9.5 km southwest of the village of Burlyksky in the Belyaevsky district, Orenburg region. It is a hydrogeological and balneological natural monument with an area of 21.9 hectares, famous for its mineral mud and unique water sources.

Geological and hydrogeological description

The tract is located in the valley of the Tuzlukkol River, where spring outlets with sulfate-calcium and calcium-sodium waters are observed, as well as a self-flowing well with highly mineralized chloride-sodium waters. Geologically, the salt marsh is formed on the basis of the near-surface occurrence of salts and gypsum of the Kungurian stage of the Permian in the core of the salt dome. Karst pockets filled with cherry clay and ochre-brown pebbles are exposed in the gypsum.

Mineral muds and waters

The Tuzlukkol floodplain has formed reserves of mineral mud of balneological quality. These muds are used by local residents and vacationers for self-medication. The mineral waters in the tract are distinguished by a high content of chlorides and sodium. In 1949, the water had a chloride-calcium composition, but in later years, after drilling a well, the composition of the water changed to chloride-sodium, with a mineralization of up to 107.3 g / l.

Historical and cultural aspects

According to legend, a salty spring called "Maiden Tears" beats in the tract, which is associated with the tragic story of a bride whose heart was broken.

A.S. Khomenovsky, who studied the waters and muds of Tuzlukkol, recommended creating a steppe sanatorium similar to the Staraya Russa resort on the basis of these resources.

Current state

Today, the tract attracts tourists who want to take advantage of the healing properties of local muds and mineral waters. Despite this, the extraction of mud and the organization of tent camps are prohibited in accordance with the protected regime of the territory.

Ecological and recreational aspects

The Tuzlukkol tract is a unique place for recreation and treatment due to its natural resources. However, due to the protected regime, independent visits, collection of mud and the installation of tents in this area are prohibited. This place continues to attract those who seek balneotherapy and recreation, providing an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and the beneficial properties of mineral resources.
