Description

The Corrective Institution Correctional Facility No. 9 (formerly known as Juvenile Colony No. 25/9) of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Orenburg Region was established on March 12, 1962, under the name Juvenile Colony No. 25/9 of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Orenburg Regional Executive Committee. Since then, the colony has been renamed and re-subordinated several times.

Currently, Correctional Facility No. 9 houses convicts sentenced to imprisonment for committing serious and especially serious crimes. The colony has its own production facilities, including a woodworking shop, food production, and auxiliary farming. These enterprises not only supply the colony but also meet the needs of the Department of Corrections of the Orenburg Region.

The colony also operates a general education school and Vocational School No. 156, and since 1975, a Orthodox church has been in operation. The colony also produces souvenir and bakery products, as well as sewing special clothing. Various animals, including cattle, pigs, rabbits, and poultry, are kept on the agricultural plot within the colony.
