Description
White Mountain is a natural formation located opposite Stone Lake and not far from the village of Podgory. It got its name thanks to the snow-white gypsum rocks from which it is composed. The structure of the mountain is made of fragile gypsum, creating the appearance of a “pile of stones” rather than one solid stone monolith.
Inside the White Mountain there are many cracks and voids between the stones through which icy air passes. This indicates the presence of extensive voids and cavities inside the mountain. Many of these cavities come to the surface, forming caves, grottoes and wells inside the mountain. These natural formations attract the attention of nature lovers and researchers, creating a unique environment for studying geological processes and natural phenomena.
