Description
The source, dedicated to Saint Elijah the Prophet, is located near the village of Kurinskaya in the Absheron region. This place seems to be lost among the mountains, but cut paths in the forest lead to it. Even the dome of a small chapel is visible in the forest, especially when the trees are bare of foliage. However, even with foliage, it can be seen.
The source deserves special attention, as it is marked on the maps of the General Staff. Respect for this source began in the 19th century after the miraculous healing of a woman to whom, according to legend, the prophet Elijah himself appeared and pointed to this place. Since then, several cases of healing from diseases with the help of water from this source have been recorded. Every year on St. Elijah's Day, local residents gather near the newly built chapel to serve a prayer service. The road to the source is not easy, it requires a fairly steep climb, and even to the beginning of the trail there is no paved road. However, even today, when nearby settlements have died out, the source continues to attract its admirers.
