Description

The copy of the monument “Worker and Collective Farm Woman” installed in Verkhnyaya Pyshma is one of the symbols of the Soviet era and a vivid manifestation of the memory of the labor achievements of the Soviet people. This monument was created by Soviet sculptor Vera Mukhina in 1937 for the World Exhibition in Paris, where it aroused great interest and rave reviews.

A copy of the monument in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, installed next to the UMMC Museum of Automotive Equipment, 9 meters high, is a faithful replica of the original. Even in a reduced size, it has impressive dimensions, and in combination with a 10-meter pedestal it creates an impressive appearance, comparable to the height of a seven-story building.

The process of creating a copy of the monument was carefully planned and implemented by the Ural sculptor Alexander Kokoteev. First, a clay model was created, for which the sculptors rented a special workshop at the Uralkhimmash plant in Yekaterinburg. Then the monument was cast from metal - aluminum, and the frame for it was made of stainless steel. The installation of the monument on the pedestal was carried out using a powerful crane with a lifting capacity of 80 tons and a specially made traverse.

The unveiling of a copy of the monument in 2018 evoked an emotional response from the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Evgeny Kuyvashev, who emphasized its symbolic significance and significance for history. UMMC General Director Andrey Kozitsyn expressed confidence in the further development of the museum complex, noting the importance of each stage of its development.

Thus, a copy of the monument “Worker and Collective Farm Woman” in Verkhnyaya Pyshma has become not only an object of cultural heritage, but also a symbol of the labor history of the people, continuing to live and inspire new generations with its ideas and images.
