Description

The monument to those killed during the Civil War in Verkhnyaya Pyshma has a long history, dating back to 1919, when the burial of Red Army soldiers and Soviet activists who died at the hands of the White Guards was carried out. Initially, a wooden platform was built at the burial site, and then various monuments and memorial steles were erected over the years.

The modern monument, opened in Verkhnyaya Pyshma in 2013, is a vertical slab lined with black granite. The number “1918” is located on it, reminiscent of the events of the Civil War. The stove is installed on a green grass carpet and is illuminated in the evening.

The reconstruction of the monument was carried out thanks to the initiative of city residents and fundraising, both from private donations and from the local budget. The winning design in the competition was called “Silence” and became the basis for the creation of a new memorial.

This monument is an important symbol of the city's history and a reminder of the tragic events of the Civil War that affected many residents of the region.
