Description

The monument to V.I. Lenin, opened at the House of Soviets in Orenburg on April 22, 1963, was an important symbol of the socialist era and occupied a significant place in the urban planning composition of the square. Created by sculptor V.B. Pinchuk, this 13-meter granite monument was awarded a silver medal by the USSR Academy of Arts for its outstanding work.

Initially, the monument perfectly combined with the architectural ensemble of the House of Soviets, playing an important role in shaping the space of the square. Thanks to its excellent landscaping and landscaping, it has become a popular holiday destination for citizens and visitors to the city.

However, at the end of the 1960s, the destruction of the amenities began, and construction of a new Agroprom building began on the site of the pool, which complemented the composition of the monument. In 1975, construction of a 16-story building began in front of the Lenin monument, which led to the monument losing space in front of his figure.
