Description
The architectural and sculptural composition "Good Angel of Peace", opened in the city of Orenburg on June 28, 2008, is part of the project "Good Angel of Peace", implemented by the International Charitable Foundation "Patrons of the Century".
The composition itself represents a figure of a three-meter-tall golden guardian angel with a dove in his hands, located on a six-meter-tall tetrahedral column. An angel walking on a hemisphere symbolizes the Earth, and a dove in his hands is a symbol of Peace and Hope.
The entire structure is supported by a square pedestal on which texts are carved on all four sides. On the front side of the pedestal is carved a text describing the composition itself, as well as the names of the authors of the artistic concept of the complex.
On the back side of the pedestal are the names of past philanthropists under the title “Orenburg Patrons of the Centuries.” On the sides of the base are words of gratitude for financial support and assistance in creating the complex, as well as a list of organizations and individuals who provided assistance.
The opposite alley leads to the “Alley of Heroes”, where 20 memorial plaques with the names of Heroes of the Soviet Union, holders of the Order of Glory and honorary citizens of the city of Orenburg are installed.
This architectural and sculptural composition is an important symbol of the city, reminiscent of the importance of peace and hope, as well as the role of charity and heroism in the history and culture of the city of Orenburg.
