In subsequent times, it was rebuilt, removing loopholes and plastering the walls, which deprived the structure of its defensive functions. However, in the 1970s, the tower was restored, the loopholes, the tent and the watchtower were restored. Today, the restored guardhouse above the second tier of the tower is used as an observation deck, offering an impressive view of the surroundings of the Kazan Kremlin.
