Description

The Nugush reservoir is the largest artificial reservoir, formed in 1967 on the channel of the Belaya River - the Nugush River. Its formation is associated with the construction of the Nugush hydroelectric power station, the total capacity of which is about 11 MW. The reservoir has a length of about 21 km and a maximum width of 5 km. The average depth of the reservoir is approximately 15 m, and the maximum reaches 30 m. The Nugush reservoir is located in the Meleuzovsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan and is part of the National Park of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The reservoir provides clean water to several large cities of Bashkortostan, including Sterlitamak, Ishimbay and Salavat.

Tourism and fishing on Nugush

Around the Nugush reservoir there are tourist recreation centers, children's camps and health resort centers. Wild tourism is not so developed here due to the reservoir being surrounded by high mountains and dense forests. The most accessible places for independent tourism are located in the southern and southwestern parts of the reservoir.

Commercial tourism is well developed. On the banks of the reservoir there are tourist complexes, recreation centers and active leisure options: water sports, horseback riding, excursions on jeeps and ATVs, as well as diving. In winter, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are available.

Fishing mainly takes place in the upper reaches of the reservoir, where various types of fish such as pike, grayling, perch and pike-perch can be caught. Some areas are equipped specifically for fish farming. Alternatively, you can use the services of commercial fishing spots for a fee.

How to get to the Nugush Reservoir

Access to the Nugush Reservoir is possible by car from the town of Meleuz, which is approximately 44 km to the east, or from Mrakovo, located approximately 69 km to the east.
