Description

The "Salute, Victory!" Memorial Exhibition Complex in Orenburg, located in the Frunze Garden, is an important symbol and monument to the military and labor valor of Orenburg residents during the Great Patriotic War. It was opened in May 2005 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the anti-Hitler coalition and has since become a place of memory for grateful descendants for the feats of their fellow countrymen.

Visitors to the complex begin at the entrance, where they can see historical artifacts and military equipment, including a MiG-17, similar to the one flown by Yuri Gagarin. The complex's territory features monuments, tanks, anti-tank rifles, mortars, and other military equipment, as well as a chapel.

Of particular interest is the intercontinental ballistic missile of the heavy class R-36M2 "Voevoda", which has become one of the highlights of the memorial complex. Its impressive size and weight - 34.3 meters in length, weighing 211 tons.

In anticipation of the 70th anniversary of Victory, the park area was decorated to bring a festive atmosphere and immortalize the memory of those who participated in the feat. Plaques on the fences tell about various orders, and the road to the Eternal Flame is now adorned with arches made of foliage with interwoven George's ribbon and a star in the middle, as well as iron tulips along the alleys.

About the exhibition complex

The "Salute, Victory!" Exhibition Complex in Orenburg is a significant memorial architectural and historical area created for the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This complex was developed by the Orenburg Governor's Historical and Local Lore Museum and the authors N.A. Eryomina and N.M. Plyasheshnik.

The exposition features more than 60 samples of weapons, military, automotive, agricultural, and railway equipment, as well as industrial equipment. Combat vehicles are presented in a variety, from aircraft and tanks to artillery guns, totaling 19 units of authentic military-historical monuments of the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition complex is organized in a park on an area of about four hectares and is divided into sectors dedicated to key events and battles, such as the Moscow, Stalingrad, and Kursk battles, the crossing of the Dnieper, and others. Each sector reflects the contribution of specific divisions formed on the Orenburg land to the struggle for Victory.

Special attention is paid to the "Rear – Front" sector, which shows the contribution of the Orenburg rear to the Great Victory. In the covered pavilion, factory equipment and machines are installed, on which metal was produced and cartridges and shells were made for the front. Next to the workshop is a military-sanitary train car, demonstrating the organization of medical assistance at the front.
