Description
Zyuratkul National Park, one of the gems of the Chelyabinsk region, stretches across the most mountainous part of the area, covering an impressive area of 88,000 hectares. Located 300 kilometers south of Chelyabinsk, in the Satka district, the park was founded in November 1993. However, its territory has a rich historical heritage: in the 1960s, primitive human settlements from the Stone Age were discovered here, indicating human habitation in these places over 17,000 years ago.
Zyuratkul always attracts many tourists thanks to the popular route to the Zyuratkul ridge, considered accessible to many. The path to the summit starts with an ecological trail, paved with wooden planks and equipped with rest areas for tourists. The ascent becomes steeper as you approach the top of the ridge, with an incline reaching 40 degrees. Along the route, tourists may find themselves in different natural zones.
As you ascend, starting from Lake Zyuratkul, the only high-mountain lake on the western slope of the Southern Urals, birch and aspen forests turn into fir-spruce taiga and subalpine meadows. Approaching the ridge, tourists encounter mountain forest-tundra and tundra. The Zyuratkul ridge itself belongs to the thousanders of the Southern Urals, stretching for 8 kilometers with a height of up to 1175 meters above sea level. From the summit, there is a breathtaking view of the surrounding lands, and on a clear day, you can even see Mount Iremel. The highest points of the ridge are distinguished by rocky outcrops called "bears". To the south of the ridge lies the Stolby tract, where huge rocky formations and ancient cemeteries have been discovered.
These unique natural and historical attractions make Zyuratkul National Park an important destination for tourism and travel in the Chelyabinsk region.
