Description
Vladimir Vysotsky visited Sochi many times, first arriving here in 1957 with his student friend Igor Kokhanovsky. He fell in love with the city, and he regularly came here himself, with colleagues from the Taganka Theater, with friends and his wife Marina Vlady.
Vysotsky's Glade
Vysotsky's Glade is easy to find, it is located on the way to the Agursky waterfalls, at the very beginning of the route. It was here in the 70s that Vladimir Vysotsky stayed with his beloved Marina Vlady, traveling on a cruise liner Odessa-Batumi. The singer spent several hours here in a small circle of friends, performing songs "impromptu".
In memory of this event, the glade was named "Vysotsky's Glade". Bard festivals are held here, and Vysotsky's songs are performed. In 2003, a memorial complex was opened on the site of the glade. The monument erected in the clearing is a copy of the bronze monument to Vysotsky erected in Primorsky Park in Sochi near the Festivalny Concert Hall.
How to get to Vysotsky's Glade
By public transport: There is no public transport that will take you to the clearing itself. The nearest stop is "Sputnik Health Complex", where buses #2 and #48 stop. From the stop, walk about one kilometer towards Agurskoye Ushchelye Street and then follow it.
By car: In the navigator, set the address to Agurskoye Ushchelye Street, Bldg. 1 (Kavkazsky Aul Restaurant). About 300 meters before reaching the restaurant, on the right side there will be a wooden sign "Vysotsky's Glade". You have arrived.
Vysotsky's meadow and monuments in Sochi are places where you can feel a connection with the work and personality of this great poet and singer.
