The Kvitko Dacha is a historical and cultural site in Sochi, known for its mysterious and mystical atmosphere. It was built in 1916 by order of Colonel Andrei Kvitko for his wife Vera. The architecture resembles a European castle. The owner is Andrei Kvitko, a colonel of the Russian army, a veteran of the Russo-Turkish and Russo-Japanese wars, a writer and an artist. The Kvitko family often received guests, among whom were Fyodor Chaliapin and Joseph Stalin. After the revolution, the mansion was transferred to the state. It housed a labor colony, a rest home, an NKVD sanatorium, a hospital and again a rest home.
Mystical stories and legends
The place is shrouded in mystical stories. They say that jewels were hidden here, and treasure hunters are still looking for them. There are legends about ghosts supposedly wandering around the house after tragic events that occurred in different years.
