Description
The MKB "SUOMI" battery (also known as the "Suomi battery") is an interesting historical object associated with the period of World War II. This object is also called mysterious circles, since many people do not know or understand what it is. This unfinished German artillery battery was conceived as part of a defensive coastal defense system and was planned to be equipped with four large caliber guns.
The peculiarity of the battery was that to equip it, the German military planned to use 30.5 cm / 45 K10 Skoda guns, originally installed on the ship "Prinz Eugen". These powerful guns were supposed to provide the battery with significant firepower.
However, due to the German surrender in 1945, construction of the battery was interrupted and the guns were never installed. Thus, the SUOMI battery was never involved in combat operations and remained an unfinished piece of military infrastructure.
Today, the SUOMI battery is a historical artifact that attracts the attention of researchers and military history buffs. Its unfinished state and architectural features are a testament to the military plans and strategies of World War II.
