Description

The ship's 130-mm cannon monument in the village of Zapolyarny, erected in 1972 in honor of the memory of soldiers of naval rifle brigades, has significant historical significance. This memorial recalls the feat of the soldiers who liberated the village of Pilgujärvi during the Great Patriotic War.

However, as noted, the condition of this monument does not always correspond to its significance. For a long time the cannon stood abandoned, which negatively affected the overall impression of the memorial. Recent improvements, such as the installation of lights and flag poles, are important steps toward preserving and respecting this historic property.

Reconstruction of the road below the monument could also help draw attention to the site and better care for it. It is important to preserve historical memorials in a dignified condition so that they continue to remind future generations of the heroic deeds of the past.
