Description

The project for the construction of the former Assembly of the Nobility was created by academician of architecture A.P. Bryullov, brother of the famous artist Karl Bryullov. General I.F. Blaramberg, who arrived in Orenburg in the year the construction of the building was completed, expresses his opinion about its authorship.

The description of the grand opening of the building of the Noble Assembly was provided by Adjutant General Perovsky and confirmed by the impressions of local historian V.V. Dorofeev. According to the primary source, the discovery occurred in December 1841. A brilliant ball was organized, for which significant financial resources were collected, the atmosphere of which was not inferior to the great celebrations in St. Petersburg. This event remained in the memory of the townspeople as one of the most significant moments.

During the 1850s, the building was used for amateur performances, and in the fall of 1856 a professional troupe began performing, leading to the founding of the city's first theater.

The building of the Assembly of the Nobility stood freely and made a majestic impression, but over time its surroundings changed. Today this building, which at one time served as the center of public life, is part of the historical heritage of Orenburg and an important cultural heritage site.
