Description
The abandoned village of Cherepanovka is located in the northeast of the Orenburg region, 1.5 km east of the small village of Novy Sokulak in the Saraktash region. According to the territorial planning department of the Saraktash district, the population of the farmstead is only 1 person. Data for 2015 indicate that the population of the Cherepanovka farmstead was 0 people.
The entire ghost village of Cherepanovka has been abandoned by local residents. Traffic signs can still be seen on dirt roads, and household items are scattered in the courtyards of houses. The atmosphere in Cherepanovka is depressing, reminding the traveler of the perishability of all things.
The farm is located in the steppe zone on the banks of the Burunchi River, approximately 32 kilometers north of Saraktash, the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 203 meters above sea level.
The climate is characterized as sharply continental, with long frosty winters and short hot dry summers. The average temperature of the warmest month (July) ranges from 20 to 22 °C, and the coldest month (January) from -16 to -15.5 °C. The average annual precipitation is 350–450 mm.
