Description
On the territory of the Saraktash district, adjacent to Bashkiria, there is a natural object - a natural monument "Andreevskie cones". This name is given to a chain of five hills that attract attention with their shape and uniqueness. The hills got their name from their shape and in honor of the village of Andreevka, famous for its monastery and beautiful nature.
Height and accessibility
The hills, 160 to 210 meters high above the floodplain of the Uskalyk River, are not high, which makes them easier to access. However, descending from them requires caution due to the steep slope. The hills consist of silicified limestones of the Kurmain suite of the Asselian stage of the Permian, which makes them highly stable.
Geological significance
"Andreevskie cones" are an object of geological, geomorphological, landscape and botanical significance. They are rich in a variety of vegetation listed in the Red Books of Russia and the Orenburg Region. At the foot of the hills there are five springs, the most famous of which is the spring on the Chasov Hill.
Historical significance
Previously, on the site of the spring there was a small chapel built by Mikhail Chistozvonov. During the Bolshevik rule, the chapel was destroyed, leaving only the foundation. The hill is also known among the people as the "Mountain of Desires", where you can supposedly make a wish and it will come true by tying a ribbon to the gazebo.
Natural monument
Andreevskie Shishki are part of the meridional ridge Karamurun. A chain of five hills rises above the floodplain of the Uskalyk River, they stretch for a distance of 6 kilometers. Mount Dlinnaya and Sergeevskaya are located on the right bank of this river, and Chasovnaya (the highest), Provalnaya and Maryevskaya are on the left.
Springs
At the foot of Chasovnaya, Provalnaya and Maryevskaya Shishki there are five springs. One of them at the southeastern foot of Chasovnaya Mountain contributed to the growth of a ravine, the depth of which reaches 3 meters. At the top of Chasovnaya Mountain at the beginning of the last century there was a chapel - a smaller copy of St. Andrew's Church.
Vegetation
On the slopes of Andreevskie Shishki, species listed in the Red Books of Russia and the Orenburg Region are noted. The slopes of the mountains are covered with characteristic petrophyte-calciphyte flora, which is an important part of the ecosystem of this region.
Note: Andreevskie Shishki are located 1.5 km from the village of Andreevka, after which they received their name.
