Description
At the top of the mysterious Mount Yamantau there are the ruins of a geological station, which are a kind of evidence of the activities of geologists and the military in this place. Despite its importance, the station has now become a caravan of machinery and equipment left here after the completion of work.
Debris from the drilling rig, pieces of equipment and other materials create a sad sight at the top of the mountain. The baths, which served as a storage area for water and antifreeze to cool the drills, now serve only as reminders of past activity.
Near the ruins of the station there is a helipad where helicopters landed to provide communications and delivery of necessary equipment. Helicopters such as the KA-26 operated regular flights to the mountain's summit, serving as a communications point and transport for military personnel and possibly geologists working there.
Today, the ruins of the station are only foundations and fragments of equipment, covered with the dust of time. Iron stoves and piles of metal scattered throughout the area are reminders of the days of active activity, but now serve only as evidence of bygone times.
