Description

The Chak-Chak Museum in Kazan is a unique cultural space that attracts tourists and city residents with its unusual concept and rich exhibitions.

The history of the museum is connected with the initiative of local enthusiasts at the beginning of the 21st century. In September 2014, philanthropists Dmitry Polosin and Raushaniya Suleymanova opened the museum with their own funds. Since then, the Chak-Chak Museum has become a cult place among both residents and guests of the capital of Tatarstan, receiving about 50 thousand visitors annually.

The location of the museum in the historical district of Kazan, Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, creates a suitable atmosphere for the exhibits. The museum building was erected at the beginning of the 19th century and belonged to the local merchant Vafa Bigaev.

The museum's exhibitions cover almost all periods of the history of Kazan, but special attention is paid to the era of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. The creators of the museum recreated the life of a wealthy Tatar of that time on the basis of authentic photographs of house interiors and preserved household items and decorations. A special feature of the museum is the opportunity to touch almost everything with your hands and experience it in action.

The museum also has a museum shop where visitors can try traditional Tatar chak-chak, as well as other 19th-century dishes restored according to ancient recipes. In addition, the museum hosts various events and excursions telling about the culture and history of Tatarstan.

The Chak-Chak Museum has repeatedly become a laureate of various competitions and nominations, which confirms its significance and popularity among tourists and residents of Kazan.
