Description
The Monument to the Benefactor, erected in the historical center of Kazan at the foot of the Kazan Kremlin, is a tribute to the memory of the outstanding philanthropist and benefactor - Asgat Galimzyanov. Erected in August 2008, this monument became a symbol of the mercy and kindness that distinguished Galimzyanov in his life.
The initiator of the creation of the monument was the first president of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev. Talented sculptors from Tatarstan under the leadership of Honored Artist Asiya Minnullina were behind the implementation of the project. Funds for the creation of the monument were allocated from the president’s personal savings.
The sculpture of the monument is integrated into the surrounding landscape and installed on the pavement, without the use of a pedestal. This gives the composition a natural and believable look. The sculpture depicts Asgat Galimzyanov in work clothes and a skullcap, leading a horse that is pulling a cart with happy children. The weight of the monument is about 5 tons, and its length is almost 7 meters.
Asgat Galimzyanov, born in 1936, made a huge contribution to charitable activities. He dedicated his life to helping orphanages, shelters and people affected by the Chernobyl disaster. For his services, Galimzyanov was awarded many honorary awards, including the International Gold Medal named after L.N. Tolstoy and the Order of Merit of the Republic of Tatarstan. His generosity and dedication left an indelible mark on the history of the region and in the hearts of those he helped.
