Description

The monument to Prince Vladimir and Saint Feodor in Vladimir is one of the most important and symbolic architectural objects of the city. It was installed in the Pushkin Park and opened in July 2007 in honor of the anniversary - the 850th anniversary of the transfer of the capital of Ancient Rus' from Kyiv to Vladimir.

The author of this majestic sculptural composition was the famous Russian sculptor Sergei Isakov. The monument consists of two figures - Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and St. Feodor, installed on a granite pedestal.

Grand Duke Vladimir is depicted riding a horse, holding a banner in his hand, which symbolizes his important role in the founding of the city and the spread of Christianity in Rus'. Next to him stands Saint Theodore, the baptist of the Vladimir land, who made a significant contribution to the spread of the Orthodox faith.

The monument is made of bronze and has a majestic appearance. The pedestal also contains bas-reliefs with images of historical characters, complementing the overall composition.

Located on the main observation deck of the Pushkin Park, the monument has become not only an important element of the urban landscape, but also a symbol of the historical connection of the city of Vladimir with its illustrious founder and spiritual mentor.
