Description
The Isheevskaya cave system, also known as the Isheevskaya Cave, is the second longest cave system in Bashkortostan, buried in gypsum. Its total length is 1002 meters, the floor area is 4600 square meters, the volume is 9600 cubic meters, and the depth and amplitude reach 26 meters (data from 1993).
The cave is located in the Ishimbay district, on the territory of the Isheevsky village council. It is located on the right side of the dry land (marked on the maps as Aryanla), which opens on the right into the valley of the Seleuk River, opposite the village of Isheevo.
Geological features
The Isheevskaya cave is embedded in gray gypsum of the Irenian horizon of the Kungurian stage of the Lower Permian, reinforced with limestones. The cave is developed along a system of side wall cracks and consists of six horizontal corridors in the north-east and north-north-west directions, formed by a single watercourse. Cave deposits are represented by products of vault collapse and allochthonous formations.
The age of the cave system does not exceed 400 thousand years, which was established during scientific research carried out in 1993.
Structure and layout
The Isheevskaya cave system consists of six horizontal corridor caves. They were formed in the thickness of gray gypsum due to water flow along tectonic cracks. The floor of the cave is covered with clay and fallen boulders.
The cave is located in the right wall of the valley of a dry ravine leading to the Seleuk River, which flows through Isheevo. In close proximity to the cave system is Sterlitamak, as well as several other natural attractions of Bashkortostan, including the Sterlitamak Shikhans, the Gumerov Gorge, the Kalim-Uskan rock and the Kuk-Karauk waterfall.
Attractions
The Isheevskaya cave system is not only an important geological site, but also an interesting tourist place. It attracts the attention of both researchers and nature lovers due to its unique structure and history. Around the cave and in the Isheevo region itself you can find many natural and cultural attractions that make this region popular among tourists.
The proximity to Sterlitamak and other natural sites makes the Isheevskaya Cave easily accessible for visiting and studying, which contributes to the development of tourism and the popularization of the natural heritage of Bashkortostan.
