Description
The Russian Orthodox Church, built in 1863 in the village of Studentsy, Orenburg Region, is a significant historical site. Its construction began on the initiative of the atamans of the Orenburg Cossack army in response to a request from village residents. Initially it was a small temple, which was later expanded and supplemented with two chapels.
The uniqueness of the temple in Studenci also lies in the fact that it was almost not damaged by the political events of 1930-1940. Despite attempts at destruction, the villagers came to the defense of their temple.
In the period from 1936 to 1944, the temple was used as a grain warehouse, but after the war it began to serve church functions again. In the 90s of the last century, reconstruction of the temple began, carried out at the expense of donations and the efforts of parishioners.
Today, in the village of Students, 35 people are under the care of the parish, most of whom live according to the monastic rules. The church community actively works for the benefit of the temple, providing assistance to those in need and participating in the renovation of the local hostel. They also engage in agriculture, growing vegetables and grains, some of which are used to feed animals.
