Salavat Yulaev's cave is located in the Kalim-uskan rock in the Ishimbay region of Bashkortostan. This three-level cave has an entrance approximately 9 meters above the level of the Sikasia River bed. It is known for its open spaces and specific features.
A speleological attraction and natural monument since 1985, the Salavat Yulaev Cave attracts tourists with its unique location and historical significance. The nearest settlement, Makarovo, is located 4 km northwest of the cave. Next to it there is also a small tourist recreation center "Kuk-Karauk".
You can get into the cave by fording the Sikasya River, which is not difficult in the summer, but difficult in the spring due to the high water level. The description of the internal spaces of the cave includes a grotto with an entrance height of 7-10 meters, vertical passages and narrow manholes leading to the upper levels.
Salavat Yulaev's cave became famous thanks to the film "Salavat Yulaev", scenes of which were filmed here. This film gained enormous popularity and since then the cave has become associated with the name of Salavat Yulaev.
Salavat Yulaev is a significant personality for the Republic of Bashkortostan, and local residents are ready to share legends and stories associated with his name, even if he himself never visited this cave.
