Description
Blue Rocks get their name from a feature that can sometimes be seen at dawn when the rocks take on a bluish tint. The name of Mount Arvyakryaz, according to local legends, is associated with the Kulsugada River, which begins near the top of the mountain, and the word “tash”, which in the Bashkir language means stone or rock. The Kulsugada River also has a romantic translated name “sleeping beauty”, but I could not find specific legends about the connection of this mountain with a fairy-tale character.
The mountain itself is characterized by a beautiful rock ridge that extends 500 meters from southwest to northeast, surrounded by smaller rock ridges. The view from the top of the mountain offers a stunning panorama of the Southern Urals, including the sharp “tooth” of Mount Arvyakryaz in the south, the city of Beloretsk in the west, Raspberry Mountain and the highest peak of the Southern Urals - Mount Yamantau.
The Blue Rocks are easily accessible. After climbing the pass from Beloretsk, you can see a forest road to the right of the road leading to the top of the mountain, from which there is an excellent view of the rocks. From the cafe on the pass to the top of the mountain it’s about a kilometer on foot. In the area of the pass there are also clearings where you can set up a camp, and the Kulsugada stream, where you can get water.
