Garibaldi Castle
Description
Garibaldi Castle is a tourist complex in the village of Khryashchevka in Samara Oblast, Russia, that has been under construction for several years, combining elements of medieval architecture, romanticism and a knightly spirit. The main building is built in the neo-Gothic style, while its interiors are gradually being finished in the styles of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Victorian era.
On the grounds there is an entertainment complex called "Aqua World" with bathhouses, a pool and a winter garden, as well as an upscale hotel built in the shape of a castle. The exterior is designed to look centuries old: the architectural details are artificially aged for authenticity, and sculptures of knights, dragons and other fantastical creatures are placed around the castle.
Inside are bas-reliefs depicting knights, the castle's coat of arms, arched vaults and ornamental patterns, and a reception area decorated in the castle's theme. Visitors can walk around the grounds, learn about the complex's architecture and history, and relax at a summer café overlooking the castle; there is a large free parking lot and souvenirs for sale.
Guided tours and walks inside the castle itself are not currently offered.
